Yesterday morning I slept in until around 9ish- it was soooo nice to not have to get up at any particular time. And since I haven't been sleeping terribly well the past few weeks, I jump at the chance anytime I can sneak in a few extra minutes of sleep.
I met my girlfriends for lunch at 11:00- yummy Cheesecake Factory. I already knew I was going to stay away from the navajo chicken sandwich because I was still feeling guilty about my weight gain. But, pregnancy is a funny thing. By the time we were seated, I knew I wouldn't have been able to eat that sandwich even if I wasn't feeling guilty! I was just way too bloated yesterday, my stomach felt like it was up in my chest and the thought of eating a big meal wasn't appealing at all! Instead I ordered their lunch special- a bowl of soup and a salad. It was perfect, just what my body needed and I was able to enjoy it and not feel too full afterwards. My friends showered me with baby gifts, they were so very generous. Baby Michel is going to have lots of cute things when she enters this world :) We walked around the newly remodeled mall (I of course had to top in and get a piece of See's Candies!) and window shopped. I felt pretty good, I think the walk after eating really helped. After saying good-bye to my friends I decided to go home and get started tackling the house.
I finished altering a new pair of maternity jeans (on sale for $25 and so so cute now that I've "fixed" them!), emptied the dishwasher, refilled it with the dirty ones filling the sink, cleaned the kitchen, baked three dozen snickerdoodles, and finally sat down for a break. But I found that I couldn't sit still- I was actually feeling pretty good! So what else could I accomplish? I went to Osh and got the crimping tool that I've been trying to hit my neighbor up to borrow but can never seem to run into, I resolved my lighting problem in the nursery (I am not a big fan of florescent light, but I am going to give it a try), came home and ate a quick bite for dinner. Then I was up again and busy finishing up two of my nursery projects. Then I vacuumed the house, dusted, and windexed all by the time Franz came home from hanging out with the guys.
By the time my head hit the pillow I was pooped, but all in all it was a very productive day!
I think you've entered the nesting phase....good grief, I'm exhausted just reading that!
