Happy Easter!  Phew, we're pooped- today was a busy day for us.  Here's a re-cap for the extended family that we didn't get to see today. 

It started with an egg hunt for the kids between church services:

And of course, this was Avery waiting for the egg hunt to begin:

Ha!  Check out that look Zoe is giving her big sister!

Can you believe Zoe is 5 months old already and this is the first family picture we've taken of the four of us?  It's so hard to get pictures of all of us together.

Then we went for a quick visit to grandma and grandpas house.  Avery had another egg hunt (no pictures- we both had our hands full the whole time!).

And lastly, we stopped by Avery's friend Nate's house for another egg hunt:

And she stole his bike and took it for a spin around the patio:

All in all it was a fun day!  Both kids held up really well considering all the traveling and hardly any napping.  Avery was old enough this year to understand the concept of egg hunting, and she really enjoyed herself- she got a TON of eggs.  And now that the kids are in bed, I'm enjoying her candy :)  She can't possibly eat all of it by herself right? 

House Call

I think this is a hilarious photo and thought you all could use a good laugh on Monday morning.  I've mentioned to Franz that my night vision isn't as clear as it used to be.  I've also mentioned that I need to get in and see him for an eye exam since the last time I had one was before we had kids.  But if you have kids, then you know how hard it is to schedule doctor visits for yourself.  So today he brought the exam to me- at home :)  Isn't he a sweet guy? 

This is the old fashioned way for checking your prescription, but it works just the same.  Turns out I was right.  My vision has changed enough to warrant a new prescription- which means new glasses for driving (and no, the "glasses" I'm wearing below aren't "available"!).

What's This? What's This? What's This? What's This?

I hear this about a million times a day now.  I think it must be Avery's favorite thing to say.  She's like a sponge.  Her vocabulary is growing so fast and she retains so much information.  It's exhausting most days trying to keep up with her constant "what's this's", but I figure every time I answer her, she's learning something.

She loves puzzles.  Large floor puzzles that require my help.  And we do them multiple times a day.  Starting the moment she wakes up every morning.

Lastly, here's one final picture that I just find so sweet.  The other day, Avery was playing in the backyard and found a dandelion.  She didn't know I was snapping photos from inside the house.  It was so sweet watching her discover the dandelion, picking it, and then watching it as it dissolved in the wind.  

I would love to know what was going on in her little mind at this exact moment.  So precious! 

Spring is Here!

How can I tell?  I have this uncontrollable urge to throw things out, de-clutter every single cupboard, closet and drawer in the house.  Good thing tomorrow is trash day!
